Project’s objective

The Project „Benchmarking of the technology parks in the South Baltic Region” is executed by the Consortium of DS Consulting Ltd. (Consortium Leader) and Kantor Management Consultants Ltd. on an order of City of Elbląg Municipality.
Main objective of the research is identification of best practices and critical success factors for foreign technology parks together with recommendation regarding possibility of adaptation of best solutions by specific Parks. The Project will essentially favour tightening cooperation between parks, as well as their promotion.
In addition to the Project’s main objective presented above, detailed aims were developed:
  1. Providing Essentials information for Parks regarding possibilities of own actions improvement and gaining knowledge.
  2. Learning about technology parks’ development stage within the area of the Baltic Sea.
  3. Showing best solutions and practices in technology parks within the examined area and in other European parks.
  4. Indicating recommendations regarding technology parks support on the regional/local level (local government units policies).
  5. Indicating recommendations for other units supporting and cooperating with technology parks, especially Science Entities and Innovation Support Centers.
  6. Indicating best practices within the frame work of technology parks promotion.
Conclusions and analyses presented in the final report of the „Benchmarking of the technology parks in the South Baltic Region” Project will constitute a starting point for Elblag's Science and Technology Park (one of DISKE partners) strategy.
Within the Project two study tours will be organized in the European technology parks. The aim of study tours is observation of parks indicated as leading in chosen areas, possibility of conducting interviews with parks’ management stuff and development of recommendations drawn from the visits for Parks – DISKE Project Partners.
